Kirat Rai Yayokkha organizes Kavigosthi 2064

Dear all friends,

I’m very proud to convey the following message to you. As you know, the Kirat Rai Yayokkha (KRY) is the central social organization of all Rais. KRY will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on the 22nd Saun, 2064 (7 August 2007) Tuesday in Kathmandu, Nepal. The venue is Nepal Pragya Pratisthan, Kamaladi. The formal program will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm. At 3.30 pm, the Kirat Rai Mahila Sangitik Sajha (Music concert programs by female artists) will start.

On this occasion, the Kirat Rai Lekhak Sangh — a wing of KRY — is organizing a poetry contest at Nepal Pragya Pratisthan, Kamaladi, 21nd Saun, 2064 (6 August 2007) Monday at 1 pm. In this program, you will hear poems in different Rai languages poems like Wambule, Bantawa, Chamling, Aathpahariya, Kohu, Dumi, Jero, Bahing, Bunglawa, Sampang, Chhintang, Puma, Khaling, Thulung, Kulung, Loharung, Nachhiring, Mewahang and others. The poems will also be translated into Nepali. Contemporary poets such as Mr. Bhupal Rai, Mr. Shrawan Mukarung, Mr. Byakul Maila (lyricist of New National Anthem of Nepal) and more veterans/literary figures will attend the program.
